GRAVEL ROAD DRIVING

This program addresses the important hazards of gravel and unsealed road driving. Drivers learn the practical skills of braking and steering on loose surfaces as well as the importance of appropriate speed selection.


This one day program assists drivers to understand the adjustments required for safe motoring on gravel, unsealed roads and country or regional driving. The program is a mixture of theory and practical sessions concentrating on areas such as;

  • Assessing surfaces and terrain
  • Detecting hazards
  • Skid prevention
  • Dealing with wildlife
  • Night driving
  • Importance of tyres and pressures
  • Preparing the vehicle

The program also allows drivers to analyse varying gravel and dirt road situations by way of work book and power point photo display.
